Scott Michael Miller

March 17, 1972 – April 23, 2025

Scott Michael Miller was born on March 17, 1972, in Philadelphia, PA to Leonard and Marilyn Miller.  He grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and then attended the University of Pennsylvania before earning his JD from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Scott met his wife Karen while they were overnight camp counselors in 1992, and they married in 1997 and moved to Manhattan and then to Tenafly, NJ.  Scott began working as an Agent Trainee at the William Morris Agency training program.  After several years there he left to join the Trident Media Group, where he remained as a Literary Agent and Executive Vice President until his passing.

Throughout his career, Scott represented #1 New York Times bestselling authors, including Mark Greaney, W. Bruce Cameron, Joel C. Rosenberg, as well as celebrities including Harry Shearer and Pam Grier.  Some excerpts from his clients and colleagues are that he “… taught me how to read, really read. Read manuscripts, read people, read life,” “I will be forever grateful for his wise counsel, brilliant negotiating skills, sharp legal training, creativity, inquisitiveness, kindness, calm manner, and good humor.  It wasn’t just a professional relationship, though it certainly was that and he made us a great deal of money over the years.  It was also a personal friendship” and “Scott Miller, maybe more than anyone else we know, truly changed our lives for the better.”

Beyond work, Scott was a talented street photographer who loved nothing more than roaming the streets of New York city to capture ordinary extraordinary moments.  His work can be seen on instagram @streetshootermiller.

Scott passed away on April 23, 2025, after a 7.5 year battle with cancer.  He leaves behind his grieving wife Karen, two daughters (Alexa, age 24 and Emma, age 20) who were the light of his life and his greatest achievement, and brother Robb.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group (ITMIG) which promotes the advancement of clinical and basic science pertaining to thymic and other mediastinal malignancies and related conditions.

Scott leaves a legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity.

May his memory be a blessing
